United Methodist Women (UMW)
Women have a special place at Willowbrook Church, as a vital part of our spiritual organizational and social makeup.
The United Methodist Women of Willowbrook have present interesting and diversified programs on a regular basis. The group has been blessed in recent years by a series of dramatic portrayals of famous women by Tanya Griffith, a celebrated actress and dramatist. This has enabled the UMW to contribute approximately $115,000 for missions and other charitable causes over the last 9 years. With other fund-raising endeavors, such as Willowbrook food shoppers enabling us to receive rebates of up to $3,000 per year from combined Kroger, Safeway and Albertson sales, the group has played a major role in Willowbrook’s generosity to humanity.
The defined purpose of Willowbrook’s UMW is “a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons, through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.”
