Study Opportunities
Bible study and spiritual enrichment have played a large role at Willowbrook from its beginning. Many opportunities are available to meet the need for study.
DISCIPLE Bible Study
The DISCIPLE Bible Studies series is an ongoing study at Willowbrook. The series includes: DISCIPLE I, Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study; DISCIPLE II, Into the Word Into the World; DISCIPLE III, Remember Who You Are; and DISCIPLE IV, Under The Tree of Life. To get involved in one of these studies check with the church office.
Jesus In The Gospels
Jesus In The Gospels is a second generation Bible study that will be presented at Willowbrook for the first time this fall. The study invites believers to look at Jesus in each of the four Gospels and ask the question, “Who is the Jesus that you see?” This study will deepen discipleship through better understanding of the biblical texts and their message.
Lenten Bible Studies
Lenten Bible Studies offer small groups short term Bible study, during the season of Lent. Groups meet at the church or in homes using selected material each year.
Prayer and Bible Study
This group, known as PBS, meets on Wednesdays to pray for Willowbrook, its pastors, members, ministries and other concerns, both national and global. The Bible is studied using commentaries and other helps.
Small Group Studies
Various small group studies are offered throughout the year. These classes vary in length and study material. Study topics have included John Wesley’s Theology, a study of the beliefs of the United Methodist Church; Rich in the Things That Count the Most, participants are invited to explore the real riches in our lives; and Confronting the Controversies, a biblical perspective on tough issues; to name a few. These and all group studies are open to all who are interested.
