In a joint project with the United Methodist Women, the Kris Krafters plan to sew school bags for children in need. The project will begin in Wilson Fellowship Hall at 9 am on Thursday, January 18, 2018. The schoolbags will be filled with school supplies provided by Willowbrook’s United Methodist Women Circles and will be sent to the UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) Distribution Center. The schoolchildren in the United Sates and in countries in need appreciate these gifts. This “assembly line” project needed many willing workers to measure, cut, pin, sew, press, and finish the bags. The bags were made of denim and lined in colorful cotton fabrics that the Kris Krafters have on hand. Cutting tables, ironing boards and sewing machines were ready for action. There were jobs for all skill levels and patterns available for making more bags at home. Contact any UMW member or their President, Barb Christie, if you would like to contribute to this project.
